Network tokens
Network tokenization
Visa, Mastercard and Amex network tokens are kept with the card, so cards on file for balance payments and later charges stay current when the bank reissues them.
For OTAs and booking engines, PMS and hotel tech and channel managers
What a network token is
A network token is issued by the card scheme, such as Visa, Mastercard or Amex, to stand in for the card number. When the bank reissues the card, for a new expiry date or after a lost card, the scheme updates the network token.
What it means for stored cards
Cards that keep working
When the bank reissues a card, the stored card still works for later charges.
Fewer cards to ask for again
Guests and partners do not need to send a new card just because the old one was reissued.
Nothing new in your systems
The network token is kept with the card in the vault. Your systems hold the same PCI Booking token as before.
